Raising alarm over continuing civilian casualties in the midst of increased hostilities in war-ravaged Yemen, the United Nations human rights chief underscored that all parties to the conflict were obliged under international humanitarian law to ensure that civilians were not harmed.

 UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is following closely the latest escalation of hostilities in Syria and reminding all parties to the conflict that they have to adhere to the international law, Stephane Dujarric, the spokesman for the UN chief, said in a statement.

 Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi here on Saturday said escalation of attacks on several Yemeni residential units is violation of human rights and should be investigated by international organizations.
