UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on Thursday for an end to the half-century Israeli occupation of the West Bank, al-Quds ('East Jerusalem'), Gaza, and the Golan Heights as the “only way to achieve the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.”

The Palestine Expo, organized by the non-profit Friends of al-Aqsa (FOA) group, is expected to draw about 10,000 people to the Queen Elizabeth Centre in London, on 8 and 9 July.

 The United Nations refugee agency announced on Friday that some half a million of Syrian refugees have returned to their homes in the first six months of the current year.
