To commemorate the International Day of Peace (September 21), the Islamic World Peace Forum (IWPF) plans to hold a seminar titled ‘Conference on 2018 International Day of Peace’ in the Iranian capital of Tehran on September 25.
The International Day of Peace, sometimes unofficially known as World Peace Day, is observed around the world each year on September 21 as part of efforts to establish global peace, ensure security in the world and guarantee equal rights for all nations, iwpeace.com wrote.
Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, World Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to peace above all differences and to contribute to building a culture of peace.
The IWPF will hold the conference in Tehran Book Garden in cooperation with the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, Holy Defense Garden-Museum, the Iranian Ministry of Justice and other organization of the country.
The themes of the conference are: 1. New threats to peace and justice in contemporary world, 2. Basics of peace and justice in Islamic principles, 3. Role of elites and organizations in structuralizing just peace, 4. Peace and justice reflected in thoughts of Founder of Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamene
