Iranians began nationwide rallies on Friday to mark the 38th victory anniversary of the country's Islamic Revolution by taking to the streets in the capital city of Tehran and up to 5,000 cities, towns and villages.
A number of top officials joined demonstrators in Tehran to commemorate the occasion.
Up to 6,000 Iranian and foreign reporters, photojournalists and camerapersons are covering the nationwide event.
President Hassan Rouhani is due to address the demonstrators in Tehran.
A statement is being issued by the demonstrators at the end of their rally in Tehran before they attend the Friday Prayers congregation at Tehran University.
